Summer Financial Update
July 27, 2018
I hope this finds you well and enjoying your quickly vanishing summer. It’s been a good season around Bridgeway as we’ve sent out two mission teams and a bunch of our kids went to camp! It’s terrific to see all the new faces and growth as we’re walking through the "Sermon on the Mount" on Sundays.
During the summer months, many churches experience a drop in both attendance and giving. This summer, Bridgeway is one of those churches. Over the course of about six weeks in June and July, our giving in four of those weeks combined was barely more than what our budget suggests we need to bring in for a single week. Our average weekly giving for the year has fallen just below $8000. We are bringing in about $600 a week less than what we need. As a result, we have transferred some money from the emergency savings account and it’s left our reserve funds dangerously low.
Thank you for your faithfulness in giving to the vision and mission of Bridgeway. Your generosity allows us to continue to minister to the community around us. As a church, we are continuing to be diligent with our money and only spending what is absolutely necessary to the operation of the church.
If summer brain has caused you to fall behind in your giving let me encourage you to consider getting caught up. If you’re new to Bridgeway and have been trying to decide whether to commit with your tithes, let me ask you to prayerfully consider whether now is the right time. God has been faithful to Bridgeway and we know that will not cease. Again, thank you for your faithfulness and we pray that God will bless you accordingly.
