Making Summer Memories For Your Kids

Making Summer Memories For Your Kids

Some of my best childhood memories revolve around camping. Sitting around the campfire, sleeping in a tent, making s’mores, hearing the sounds of crickets at night. You may not be a camper, but I know you have dozens of sweet childhood memories as well.

As a children’s pastor, making memories for kids is at the top of my list for this summer. The children at Bridgeway come to mind and how much they need to know about the amazing love of Jesus. The children in our community come to mind - kids who, perhaps, have grown up without ever being taught about the love of God. Thinking about these kids fuels a passion in me for our church to make an impact in kids’ lives this summer.

This year, kids will be making memories at Camp Mission Adventure. It is a weekend camping experience at Bridgeway. Kids will be able to enjoy sessions on Friday night, Saturday morning, and again on Sunday during the children’s services. This is not an overnight camp, but it will be full of camping fun including tents, campfire time, s’mores, games, music, inflatables, missions projects and more!

We are really excited about connecting with the families of the children that attend. On Saturday we’re closing out the morning with a Family Lunch for all involved at Camp Mission Adventure. Parents and kids will enjoy a meal together and have time to get to know other families. There will be inflatables, campfires and s’mores and a lot of fun. Let’s be praying for God to make some awesome connections for kids and families.

Let’s pray and serve and invite and then watch what God will do.  With His help, we can make memories for children that last a lifetime and help kids focus on Jesus Christ.
